10/30/2017 - Burlington Township Police Department Investigating Attempted Homicide, Suspect Arrested

BURLINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ – At 10:09 AM on Sunday, October 29, 2017, the Burlington Township Police Department responded to a report of a stabbing at an apartment within the Brittany Court section of Chateau Apartments located on Sunset Road in Burlington Township, NJ.

Upon arrival, officers found a 54 year old male victim lying on the bathroom floor suffering from multiple stab wounds and lacerations to his face, upper chest, hands and arms. The victim was treated on scene by members of the Burlington Township Police Department, Endeavor Emergency Squad and Virtua Paramedics prior to transport to Cooper University Hospital, where he is currently listed in critical condition.

The investigation revealed that prior to the stabbing the victim engaged in an argument with housemate William Hines (34 year old Burlington Township, NJ). Hines fled the scene prior to police arrival. However, he turned himself into police custody at the Burlington Township Police Station just before 12:00 noon today. He has been charged with criminal attempt homicide, aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. He is currently lodged in the Burlington County Jail pending his appearance in court.
