Bicycle Unit
Burlington Township Police Department’s Bicycle Unit is used to
supplement traditional patrol functions and to enhance police-community
relations. The use of bicycles enables the officers to have more
personal contact with the public, and allows the officers to reach areas
inaccessible by other vehicles. The Bicycle Patrol increases police
presence and response capabilities in such locations as at sporting
events.
The Bicycle Unit is currently staffed by 9 patrol officers and supervised by a patrol Sergeant. In addition to supplementing police patrols, the unit conducts bicycle safety presentations and bicycle registrations. For more information contact Sgt. Richard Sullivan.
