Officer Profile - Lt. Bruce Painter

Lt. Bruce Painter began his law enforcement career in March of 1995, as a Police Officer with Burlington Township Police Department. Over the next 14 years, he held various assignments in the Patrol Division. In October of 2002, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant, and in November of 2006, he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. Lt. Painter is currently assigned as the Technical Services Division Commander.

Lt. Painter is a graduate of Rowan University, where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. In 2008, Lt. Painter attended the 234th Session of the FBI National Academy, which is a ten week course internationally known for its academic excellence in advanced investigative, management and fitness training for selected officers having proven records as professionals within their agencies. During his training time with the FBI National Academy, Lt. Painter took several advanced level courses, earning him credits towards a Master’s Degree. Lt. Painter is also a graduate of the West Point Command and Leadership Program, and the Certified Public Manager’s Course (Level 1 through Level 3), which is sponsored by Farleigh Dickenson University.

Lt. Painter has served in numerous units such as Community Policing, Adopt-a-Cop, Field Training Officer, Bicycle Patrol, and Firearms Training Unit and is an operator on the Burlington County Joint Tactical Team. Lt. Painter is currently the department’s Lead Firearms Instructor and a member of the Joint Burlington City/Burlington Township Special Reaction Team. Lt. Painter is also a member of the International Associations of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors.
Over the course of his career, Lt. Painter has received numerous accolades and commendations for his outstanding service to the residents and community of Burlington Township.
