Officer Profile - Sgt. Michael Gollnick

Sgt. Mike Gollnick is a lifelong resident of Burlington Twp. He is married to his wife Laura and they have two children, Alexa and Jack. Mike joined the Burlington Township Police Department in the summer of 1997 and was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in September of 2006.
Mike is 1991 graduate of Burlington Twp. High School. From there he earned a baseball scholarship to Saint Joseph’s University where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice. While at St Joe’s, Mike completed an internship with the Burlington Twp. Police Department.
Mike has served on many units within the department such as the field training officer unit, the bicycle unit, the community policing unit, Street Crimes, the honor guard, adopt-a-cop and the Traffic Safety Unit, which he currently supervises.
The Traffic Safety Unit is tasked with investigating all fatal or serious bodily injury motor vehicle crashes. Sgt Gollnick has received traffic and crash investigation training from Northwestern University, Rutgers University and the Institute of Police Technology and Management (IPTM). Currently there are seven officers assigned to the traffic safety unit under Sgt Gollnick. Each traffic officer is assigned to a specific area of the community in order to better understand and work to alleviate traffic issues as they arise in their respective area of responsibility.
